DIGITAL MIGRATION: Ugandan Television Signals just went bad

Hello ugandans! Today is 15th/06/2015 and it is satainly not 17th on which the UCC thretens to block off analog TV. Just this morning, all Tv stations saddenly went off as though the screen was full of moving rice. Yes the like rice the food.
How ever, this is not happening to only analog TV. Its happening to atleast all digital Tvs i have tryed the likes of GO TV and the rest in the picture. This poses alot of questions incluiding the reason y no one is accessing TV all day. how is this even possible.
ok. lets see. If its not yet the date to digitalize the contry, then what else can we think of. Just befor the TV went out, almost all the televisions ware brodcasting Mbabazi's annoucement to stand for presidency. A friend of mine agues this could also be a political move by the government or pahaps even worse, the president himself could have taken part in this. Hey, this is only a breaking story as well keep you uptodate as we grow it.

what is Digital migration anyway?

this is simply the transition from analogue TV to digital terrestrial TV broadcasting

What is the diffence beteen digita and analog Tv?

In analogue broadcasting, the signal is transmitted as a continuous wave while for digital TV the signal is transmitted as a discrete wave. For digital TV, the signal is encoded and can be compressed to allow for more channels to be broadcast.

You can get most of the information about digitala migration from the UCC website

For now, we can only hop all is well. And yes: Switch to Digital.

This allowed me to develop and enhance my skills more effectively. Currently on a cyber... Continue Reading
