Android M is about to add native support for fingerprint scanners

One of the reasons for lack of widespread presence of fingerprint scanners on Android devices is the lack of native support in Android, relegating it to just unlocking the phones on which it is present. But that might change soon.

One of the reasons for lack of widespread presence of fingerprint scanners on Android devices is the lack of native support in Android, relegating it to just unlocking the phones on which it is present. But that might change soon.

According to BuzzFeed and Ars Technica, Google might announced support for fingerprint scanner in Android M at I/O 2015. although the company declined to comment on that. Ars Technica found commits in AOSP for Nexus 6 for a fingerprint sensor, which Google has been working on on the software side. The Nexus 6 was also supposed to have a fingerprint sensor but according to Motorola ex-CEO Dennis Woodside, Apple bought the one good company that made those.

With native fingerprint scanner support in the OS, all the apps can tap into it and use it for authentication. You would be able to use it for your Play Store purchases, or Google Wallet authentication, or for apps like 1Password, Authy, Dropbox, OneDrive, Simplenote, or any other app that allows you to use a passcode lock, and that currently use Touch ID on iOS, can be used with the fingerprint scanner if they add support for it on Android.

Currently very few Android phones have a fingerprint scanner, with only the recent Galaxy S6 and S6 edge having implemented it the right way, but we could see more devices in future if Google does decide to include it in Android M.

How To make Free Calls To All Networks | Even Landline

Free calling to all networks? After this tutorial you will have the knowledge to make free calls across all networks.

How this Works:

This is all made possible with Yet another service by a well known telecom company, Airtel.
The service as called "Magic Voice" which turned out not only as a voice changing service but also as a loophole in the Telecom's system to make calls to any network. All you need to do for this is add a 3 digit code to any number you want to call regardless of the network company of the number. You can add any number like "077,078,071,073,072,079,040" etc.

Warning:

You may hear some music in the background as you chat BUT it's very: Un Usual

Step 1:

Load any Free calls bandle on your simcard if you don't have one. EG- Kawa, Pakalast or Kyabise.
I recommend "Paka Last". For 20 minutes 1000 UGX.

Step 2:

Now, Let's look at how to make the 20 minutes call all networks insted of just Airtel -
Put any number of another network you want to call into your phone. [ Don't call it yet ]

Step 3:

Add this code at the beginning of that number 190
EG: if you want to call 0784345455, add 190 and have this: 1900784345455
Now You may Call. [Make sure you don't have any usable credit on your simcard,]

Step 4:

You should be recieved by a voice teling you to chose a languadge or plan.
If it asks for The languadge, Chose any, If it asks for a plan, Chose option 1 to use 24 hours at 250 UGX [No waries, You don't have to have credit, just keep going]

Step 4:

After those That, you will here another voice asking you to chose a Voice, Just chose option 5.
I like option 5 because it won't actually change your Voice but enhance it.

Lastly:

Wait untill the pearson you are calling picks up then you can talk with no credit being cut, only your free minutes will be cut. You may press 0 to use your original voice or just speak.

Congratulations, You can now call all networks with free minutes.

Note: This trick is not limited to Airtel or Warid. You may use any one of the two.

How To Extend Your Free Minutes Expiry Date To When Ever You Want

In my Previous Post, I showed How to make real unlimited free Calls. In this tutorial, I will show you a way to extend your Kawa minutes expiry date to any time of your convenience.

After reading my previous post "How to make real unlimited free Calls" You should now be able to use 500 shillings for 24 hours to make calls at any time you feel like and still finish the day with out completing the 5 minutes. But hey, What if i tolled you that you don't even have to load that 500 Shillings every single day to run for 24 hours. What if i tolled you, that you can load the 500 Shillings to use it the whole week. Or even a moth. Well, I am telling you now: If you successfully followed the steps in the previous post and you are now conversant with" How to make real unlimited free Calls ", Yes You can.

<<=========== RUUT.ug ===========>>

Ethertekug.com has been shifted to  www.ruut.ug and will make NO MORE Posts.

<<=========== RUUT.ug ===========>>

How this works?

-The process involves small loophole in the SMS functionality of the Kawa Service for warid.

Steps:

Step 1: Load 500 Shillings of airtime.
Step 2: Go to your sms so you can create a new SMS
Step 3: Create a message: PAKA and send to a Number 149

After sending this message, The 500 Shillings will be exchanged for 5 minutes. but Valid for only 24 hours.

Now to extend the validation of these minutes:

You just need to keep sending the same message in Step 3 to 149 to extend validation time by 24 hours.
Each time you send PAKA to 149, You will get more validation for 24 hours. and you can do this as many times as you can to get more time.

You may Dial/all *170# to see your Minutes balance and date of expiry

Note: -This process may only work with warid sim cards: (070
-Please make sure you have no balance in airtime before you send the second message for it may be deducted

How To Make Real Unlimited Free Calls [All Day, All Night]

We all know how costly phone calls can be especially after the sell out of Mobile network Warid to Airtel. Call and Data costs got even worse. In this tutorial you will learn a way to make calls all day, all night at 500 UGX only.

Surely you have all heard of this word "Free Calls" But is it really free if you actually have to pay for it? No it's not. No network gives out real free calls to any one YET. because you can't pay for something free. In this article, You should learn a way to use 500 Uganda shillings for 24 hour calling all Airtel and Warid Networks. Now that's closer to "Free calls"

How this trick works:

This is made possible by an SSD code used to opt out of a friends and firmly number list celled "One and Only" So you basically got to simply add a number u want to call but instead of being charged for changing the current number in your list, You rather opt out so you are not charged.then Add another number.
You can do this recurrently and no charge will be placed.
When a number is added at any time, You will call that particular number free provided you have minutes regardless how many. (I suggest you use 500 to buy 5 minutes)

Getting started

Warning:
-After Buying the 5 minutes at 500 UGX, Please make sure you have no usable balance/Airtime.
-Every call you make may be cut after 5 minutes, But don't worry, You can just call them back

Step

Dial this code: *149*4#.
What this code does: Subscribe for a promotion called Kawa and will give you 5 minutes of calls.
To check for your minutes balance dail: *170#

Step 2:

Add This code to your contacts: *100*9*2*3# [We'll Need it later]
What this code does: Removes an added number from the "one and Only" List

Step 3:

Dail this code: *100*9*1#
What this code does: Lets add a number to your "One and Only" list.

Lastly:

After dialing the previous code, You will be asked to enter a a number, just add the number you want to call and then press the "Send/OK" button.
A message should come on your screen saying: You success full added the number.

Congratulations: You can now call any number you add [No Charges from account.]

-Now if you want to call another number, First remove the current number by dialing/calling the code i tolled you to add to your contacts [*100*9*2*3#]
You may also just note it some where and just dial it with our saving it in contacts, Though i think it saves a lot of time when you add it to contacts.

I will post another article this week:

Charging Your Cell Phone Battery Full In 30 Seconds

Owning a Smart phone is not the hard part any more, but keeping it's battery power on is the great deal (Frustrating and time consuming). Just charging a smart phones battery could take up to a full hour or even two, which in most cases will last for less than a day.

This might all change in a time not far from today. Bassed on a video posted on you tube by an Israeli Company called StoreDot.This video has in it a prototype of this amaizing technology that can actually charge a phone battery in only 30 seconds. Don't belive this? Watch this

Related Post:-How To Maximize Your Phone's Battery Life

VIDEO:

This battery does not only  charge quickly but it as well stays charging even when unplugged from the charger.
StoreDot, says the technology started as a research project at Tel Aviv University. The technology in this video is said to work under specific amino acids isolated and then used with peptis to create nonocrystals.
The company is hoping to release their product to the public in two years or less since the only challenge they face is packaging this product in portable form.

We have all encountered that time when battery is ruining down and we go like "Oh no. I got to make that important call, Some of us have phones that last half as long as it used to a year ago.

But how much of this is our fault. And how much is it on the phones makers? Can we do anything about it? YES. There are a million ideas for maximizing the life of a cell phone battery. Here's what you need to know.
There are a million ideas for maximizing the life of a cell phone battery. Here's what you need to know. Maximizing your phones battery life is all based on several theories though proven to work for most phones. Some times it really depends on your devices battery type, and phone usage.

Getting started, I'll start with Charge Frequency:

So i was born in the 1990z, By the year 2000, I heard brains to think and remember. In those days, rechargeable batteries worked best when fully charged (100%)- then fully used to (0%) the it was considered safe to Fully charge again But over the years, materials have changed, and so have the rules. Today Experts recommend that Chargeable batteries stay between a minimum of 20% to a maximum of 80%.this will help maximize the capacity of the battery over time.In my opinion, This best applies on Li-ion butteries of 3.7 V.This is what comes in all smart phones i have seen and most other phones.
[NOTE] This doesn't mean you shouldn't fully charge your battery. but says how fine it is If your phone's battery doesn't always fully charge or completely go Down.

Related: Charger fills your battery in 30 seconds

Silent but consuming:

Many battery life issues can be caused by over seeping processors and power full hardware, It's not always about Just about the hard ware. But the softwares insted. Verry many android phones consume alot of battry becouse of applications runing in the background that you probaply dont even use. So if you can figure out what apps you use and those you dont, Please try to uninstall them or atleast turn them off.

Messaging apps:

Facebook Massnger, Wats App, Viber and all those instant massaging applications consume just alot of power cince they have to constantly check in with the cental server for new massages.hence puting the batrry on a constant release of charge. Some times, It's the couse of phones that are ever worm.

Temperature rising:

When it comes to long-term battery life, heat is the great killer. If your device constantly runs hot, you can expect your device to degrade quicker. In the case of cellphones and tablets, there's not a whole lot you can do about this if you discover issues with heat after buying, but you'll at least have some idea as to what's causing those rapid power drains.

wireless & Bluetooth features:

Please remember to switch your wirless and blue tooth features when you are not using them. this misght save you a few minutes, but the few could be all you need to make that call.

Screen brightness:

Your screen brightness cotributes alot to your battery life.Keep your brightness as low as works for you, as screen display could save you a few minutes but it could be those few that you need to make that important call.

Related: Charger fills your battery in 30 seconds

In conclutions. We all know this: It doesn’t matter how you deal with your phone, The battry will still go out. Question: How murch can you save?

Facebook Launches A New Feature That Tracks Friends Location

The new feature face book has called “Nearby Friends” will be able to find friends location easily anywhere in the world.

See that phone you are always moving with?. Yea that one. It always knows where you are. That’s why the government or your network operator like MTN,Airtel and the rest can track you any where when you have your phone with you. Well now, it doesn't have to be just the government and your network operator that can see exactly where you are. Any facebook friend can know where you are in a few clicks on Facebook's iOS and Android apps, however will only work for select locations at first.
How this feature works? Nearby friends taps into that steady stream of location information so friends can track each other in real time. The idea is to make it easy for people to meet up in real life, so they can have conversations in person instead of comment threads.

However for your peace of mind, the nearby friends feature is not turned on by default so if you don’t like your friends tracking you, don’t enable it. Friends will not be able to see where you are unless you decide to allow live-tracking in your Face book’s settings. Making a potentially non invasive feature because you can choose to share your general location with all your Face book friends, close friends or a customized list of people you feel most comfortable with.

The Moment this new feature is turned on, the Nearby Friends feature; Facebook starts collecting data on your exact location and keeps details on where you've been in the past, not just places where you've used its app to check in. It also collects location information even when the Facebook app is closed but you can turn off this location history in the Facebook app's settings. It's possible to delete individual locations from a history, or clear the whole thing and start from scratch. There is an option to share your exact location with specific friends, which can be handy for coordinating large groups at concerts or finding someone in a crowded area. Your friends will see a little image of your face on a map for a set period of time.
I have to say however - This is not the first time an application like this has come about. Apps like Highlight, which got a flood of interest in 2012, mapped out the locations of nearby strangers. Facebook also purchased a startup in 2012 called Glancee that also connected strangers. Combined, this is the technology that evolved into this new application and more private feature:”Nearby friends”.

ORANGE UGANDA IS OFFICIALY SELLING IT'S SELF

As we articipated before Warid Telecom soled out to Bharti Airtel Uganda. Now this time, it's Orange Uganda looking for a buyer for it's business in Uganda.Orange is also thought to be planning an exit from several markets in Africa where it does not already hold a number one or two spot. Aside from Uganda,The Fench operator Orange has mandated Lazard to find a buyer for its mobile telecoms business in Uganda,

Uganda’s mobile market is dominated by MTN and Bharti Airtel. The latter acquired the third largest operator Warid Telecom for around US$100m from the Abu Dhabi Group in May 2013. MTN has around 8.5 million subscribers in Uganda, while post-merger, Airtel has over 7.5 million. The next largest is Uganda Telecom’s UT Mobile unit, with Orange Uganda among the country's smaller operators.

According to sources, the most logical buyer of the Orange Uganda unit could be MTN. The South African operator has previously been vocal about consolidation in the country, and will be keen to firm up its number one position, with second place Airtel gaining valuable ground. While Airtel is also clearly in acquisition mode across Africa, sources said it was unlikely the Indian telcom would make a move for Orange Uganda so soon after its Warid buyout.

What are the advantages and dis advantages of the sell out?
We won't know till the sell out. Just like we couldn't know about The Internet candles hiking that airtel made after paying out Warid and a lot more instabilities. For now, Wait...
